Juan Gallego.

Born in Colombia, Juan Gallego emigrated with his family to the United States at age seven. They settled in Chelsea, Massachusetts where Juan excelled as both a student and athlete. While an undergraduate at Northeastern University, he was named a Truman Scholar for outstanding public service and served as Governor Michael Dukakis’ assistant for two years.

After graduating from Northeastern in 2019, Gallego worked on successful campaigns for U.S. Senator Edward Markey and for the current Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts, Kim Driscoll. He currently works in the Massachusetts State House as Lt. Governor Driscoll’s associate deputy chief of staff.

In his spare time, Juan enjoys visiting cities and towns across Massachusetts, skiing, and running along Revere Beach. On special occasions, Juan’s family makes Sancocho, a slow-cooked stew from the Antioquia region of Colombia. In sharing his family’s recipe, he advises to enjoy while “surrounded by family and loved ones.”
